The Peace Journey
Testimonials, spiritual growth stories, or a behind-the-scenes look at Denise’s path.
One Thursday evening I walked into a small room and encountered this melodious voice that drew me in immediately. As the words glided out of her mouth with ease and her encouragement made it a breeze to create. Her energy ignited a fire that was laying dormant in my soul. To my surprise, I had been hit with the Denise Effect, that forever impacted with way I tell my own story through rhythm and words.
There are no words big enough to capture what she has meant to me, but I’ll try.We met through a work Bible study, and from the first time I heard her pray, I felt it in my soul. Her voice, anointed and full of the Holy Spirit, carries a weight that stirs something deep. She has been more than a friend; she’s been a spiritual anchor, a warrior, and a vessel God used in some of the most pivotal moments of my life.
When I was diagnosed with cancer, she laid hands on me and prayed with a boldness and faith that shook heaven. The next day, during surgery, they found nothing but scar tissue. When I was walking through infertility, she prayed and stood with me, believing even when I couldn’t. Today, I hold my healthy, full-term miracle baby in my arms because God moved, and she never stopped interceding.
Even a thousand miles and a new season of life haven’t lessened her presence. She continues to show up, love fiercely, and speak life into every person she encounters.
She has strengthened my faith, encouraged my spirit, and shown me what it looks like to walk in the authority of God’s calling. Her gift is more than creativity, it’s ministry. It heals, uplifts, and awakens. I am honored to witness it and to be a recipient of it.
Niecy Johnson is a rare light in this world. A woman of deep integrity, grace, kindness, and unmistakable style. Her radiant soul shines through in every interaction, and her friendship is a true gift. She has witnessed the movement of God through creativity and spoken word, always offering encouragement rooted in love, truth, and spiritual wisdom. To know Niecy is to experience a living expression of compassion and divine presence.
What impresses me the most is that even when you have struggles of your own, you still use the gift of your words based on Truth to help others. On several occasions, your words and your actions have inspired me to keep serving, keep loving in spite of.
I love the way you take real life circumstances and real people and using the gift of words, brings them to life for others in an unforgettable way. I admire the way you see people. Your words are not just words, but with compassion you see people as they are. Thank you for using your gift in such a special way!
I thank the Lord for sending Sis. Denise to our fellowship. The tireless energy and pleasant spirit that she brings is the shot in the arm that we truly needed. She hit the ground running on day one sharing the gifts and talents that God has blessed her with. She has blessed us with the spoken word, creative ideas, willingness to help wherever needed and has displayed a gift of bringing people together to glorify God. We look forward to where God will lead her next.
Niecy’s unwavering passion and love for God shine through in everything she does, and her ability to share that love with others is truly a gift. During
our time co-chairing the Black Cultural Exchange (BCE) at Kforce, I witnessed firsthand her dedication, not just to the mission, but to the people behind it. She poured her heart into crafting meaningful meeting content, and the way she opened each session with powerful, Spirit-led introductions moved not only me, but everyone listening. Her voice both literally and figuratively commands attention yet offers comfort and peace. It’s the kind of voice that feels like a warm embrace, rooted in wisdom and compassion.
What inspires me is her selfless commitment to serving others. Whether it’s her devotion to God, her love for family, or her willingness to help anyone in
need, she leads by example.
Denise, your spiritual walk alone has been and continues to be a testimony to me. I often tell you about the most profound moment for me is when you learned that your role at work would be eliminated. Which would mean that you would lose your place of
residence, your car and all the other amenities that you would need to live comfortably. I felt as if I was more anxious and nervous than you. I later realized that I truly was more concerned than you. What I learned that day is that you not only speak of the word, but you also walk in the word. You told me that you knew you would be okay and that God was in control. I was shocked and a bit concerned that you may not
be taking the situation seriously. I learned that not only were you taking the situation seriously, but also your faith and understanding were taken very seriously by you, and that is what guided you. You did not lose your job, but you did move on to another opportunity at the company, an opportunity that provided you with a great deal of happiness and growth.
I just wanted to take a moment to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers and godly counsel during the challenging seasons in my health and relationships. Your support has truly been a gift from God.
You’ve reminded me of His faithfulness time and time again, and your presence has helped carry some of the burdens I couldn’t bear alone. Your words, your faith, and your love have ministered to me in ways you may not even realized.
Not only have you stood by me in the hard times, but you’ve also been there to celebrate the good news and answered prayers. Your joy for me has lifted my spirit, and it’s meant so much to have someone cheering me on with such genuine love. You’ve helped me see God’s goodness in every step, both in the valleys and on the mountaintops.
As 2 Corinthians 1:4 says, “He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others.” You’ve been that comfort to me, a genuine sister in Christ,
and I thank God for placing you in my life.I am so excited to see what this next chapter holds for you.
